Lionel 1990 Scale Hudson's Railsounds (6-18005)

I understand that soon after Lionel released this engine there was an article in CTT on how to alter the sound board to increase the chuffs per revolution. I'm curious how it was done. Can anyone give me a lead on this?

Thanks

Mike

I suspect a Railsounds of that vintage has a switch somewhere that is triggering the chuff.  You need to arrange for that switch to cycle more times for a revolution to increase the chuff rate.

Not sure about CTT, but I know that there was an article on it in the "other" O gauge magazine. It involved undoing a solder joint on the RS board. Not at all hard to do. I'll have to look around next time I am at the parents' and see if I can find out which issue it was.

Nickaix, yes that is the method someone told me about. Please let me know if you do find it.
