Conerting Conventional to TMCC?
Posted by laz 57 on Sunday, March 27, 2011 7:51 AM

Hi GUYZ,

I am thinking of converting a SD 70 Lionel diesel to TMCC.  It says that the engine is upgradeable.  Can I just buy the ERR along with the sound package and put them in?  Anything I should know and look out for.  I have done the ERR upgrades in some of my TMCC engines and that is quite easy.

Thanks,

laz57

Laz on a upgradeable I'm not sure if there are plugs you can just plug into or what but I have done williams and it was real easy.

My NYC that had tmcc but just horn and bell I added train sounds to it and it was just unpluging one and pluging and mounting the other in. but as a whole there real easy so far and I'm not that electrical knowlegeble lol

Laz,

I have a Lionel Locomotive that indicated it was upgradable, too.   I think it might be just a card swap, except for the sounds.  Email ERR and they will always tell you what to buy.
