So that must mean I must have screwed up then?

Try logging out, close your browser and come back to the site -- see if that works. If it doesn't, send me a message and I'll see what I can do to get this resolved.

Gee, computer is logging in and remembers the screen name and password even if I change to another web page. Nothing different here in Roger's Corners, Ohio except they spotted the lion again today.[:)]

I deleted my Trains.com cookies from the Adaware Popup and Cookie control and then readded them and they went to work. You must have made a slight change in the cookies address and it was smashing them. Thanks for the help you gave me.

Hey Cheif, I have spybot s&d and spysweeper. They don't give me any trouble with trains.com. I don't know if you pay for yours but you can download them free. They keep my machine clean and bot free.

I have my cookie control on, on Adaware and it works good. When the maintenance was done, must have been a slight change in address or something. Took the Trains.com out and then readded it and it works now. I wounder if the coffee pot is getting too full. I do notice I have to click on it a couple of times before their server responds.

The site comes up quick on my machine, but I have DSL. I'm not sure about address change on their side unless they forced the change. Addresses are rented, and have to stay. Trains.com to us is translated to an ip address for a computer. So we would see trains .com and the computer will look for 192.168.120.120 this is done through a LM host file. I usually empty out my cookies, history, and offline content. It keeps the bots out, the machine takes a bit longer to get the first page open but everything is always fresh.

An IP address to a computer is like your address to a mail carrier. We cant be expected to remember a websites address, it is 12 numbers long. For the sake of making it easier for people to remember a web site we get a name. So instead of typing 192.192.192.168 everytime we want to go to Msn, all we have to do is type www.msn.com. the www and the .com stay the same all we have to remember is the msn or trains part. You get the idea. The LM host file is what translates msn to be 192.192.192.168. It gets a lot deeper since the IP addresses are starting to run low. It is a good idea to clean the internet files out. All you have to do is a windows clean up. it is in start >programs> accesories>system tools> windows cleanup hope this Help .

Yes, got mine so it will wipe out all when I leave the internet. I'm on Road Runner and it is fast. The site comes up fast but the "coffee pot" is sometimes slow responding to my clicks. IF I take off the Adaware, it would be faster as it tells me the third party junk it is wiping out as it does it.

Site names such as Trains.com are converted to Internet Protocol (IP) address by Domain Name Servers (DNS) maintained by the Internet Service Providers such as Road Runner, AT&T etc. When you type in www.somename.com a request is sent out to the Domain Name Server (DNS) at your internet provider. The name is looked up and the address returned to your browser and then the request is sent to the proper web site.

The LM host files are kept by the DNS server. The LM host file is what the DNS server looks at to translate a name to IP.

Newer routers also keep a log of where websites are and their addresses. These maps are stored in the routers to ease the work load of the servers.

Having lots of problems today when changing between topics
and screens. Getting error messages and page not loading
messages. Checked my system and no problems evident on
my end. Maybe the Kalmbach crew needs to troubleshoot the
server(s) on their end. Looks like many others are having the
same kinds of problems. How about it, OguageOverlord?
