FasTrack uncoupling section problem
Posted by Mike the newbie on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 8:47 PM

Hello,

I just purchased my first Lionel O gauge train and I have a question.

My train set came with a FasTrack uncoupling section.   According to the instruction booklet, I don't need to do anything special in order to get this to work.  Just install it along with the remainder of the track.  When I move the car over the coupler section, making sure the magnets line up, , it doesn't work.  I also hooked up the switch (button) that supposedly works the unloading functionality of the train.  That doesn't work either.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

Well, Mike (the newbie by your own post).

First thing you are doing wrong is posting in the wrong forum!  Wink

You want the Classic TOY trains forum...not this one, which deals strictly with historical prototype "stuff".

There is one thing special that you have to do--have the track voltage turned up.  Did you do that?

Bob, I am also concerned with the statement:

"car over the coupler section, making sure the magnets line up"

... there is only one magnet, and it is, of course, the electromagnet.
