Does anyone have any info on the Sears Service Station Lionel train sets sold in 1972 at Sears only? I believe these were catalog #6-1290 and 6-1291. I've been trying to hunt down either info or pictures of these train sets. I received my first Lionel train set on Christmas 1972. I do recall the train set being only 5-cars in length total. The locomotive and tender were black. I can't recall the loco number or the railroad name on the tender. I believe the tender may have been sloped. The rail cars were a box car (orange or rust color), logging dump car and a Penn Central caboose(green color). This is not a Marx set. I have an old Polaroid picture with the train box saying Lionel and sound of steam. My father says it was either purchased at Sears or JCPenney. Also if anyone may have info or pictures of the following Lionel train sets I would greatly appreciate it: #6-1190 ('71 Sears Set), #6-1195 ('71 JCPenney Set), #6-1395 ('73 JCPenney Set).
Thanks!!!
Per Greenberg's Guide to Lionel Trains 70-91, V 2:
1190 - Sears Special #1: 8140 Southern 2-4-0 and tender; 9060 Nickle Plate SP caboose; 9020 UP flatcar; 9140 Burlington gondola. Loco in this set is unique to Sears.
11950 - JC Penney Special: 8022 SF Alco diesel; 9021 SF work caboose; 9140 Burlington gondola; 9011 Great Northern hopper. SF Alco is unique to JC Penney.
well the 2 sets the above don't match yours as the southern set would of had a green engine and tender and the Santa fe set is diesel so that leaves you with 1395

and it was built in 71-72 and I seem to remeber having this set ( I buy and sell trains off and on) with a log dump car ( green PC car) as they did vary on these sets from time to time the cars
