X-rated bookstore
Posted by FJ and G on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 3:43 PM
I visited an X-rated bookstore on King Street near Washington St in ALexandria VA, conveniently a blox from my work.

Interestingly; actually very interestingly and titillatingly, this is the only bookstore in town that not only has X rated magazines (the kind you can open, not enclosed in plastic but I'm not admitting to anything like that here), but also has a variety of unusual train magazines not found in the chain bookstores such as several narrow gauge magazines, a live steam magazine, O scale news and several other.

A most interesting bookstore for those who like to tickle their fancy in several ways.

Wonder what kind of marketing scheme that is.

Always wondered why there was a black sheet with a red light behind it at the hobby store!

Dave:
I can't believe they offer train magazines in a X-rated book store. Next thing you know they'll call a 'glory hole"
a tunnel portal?

Bill,

I passed by the store on my way in this morning. It is called "Old Towne News: Papers and Magazines from Out of Town." THe left side is taken up with well-thumbed thru X magazines (the page corners are turned up) and the right side has non-X that are less thumbed thru. Sign on the door says "No one under 18 allowed." THere are no peep shows or vibrators, just periodicals. I forgot to mention S Gaugian is there and a bunch of others but no CTT, OGR or MR.

It's kinda strange seeing the normal people on the right side and the perverts on the left. Well, hard to say who's normal anymore. I do admit walking down both aisles out of curiosity.

Jerome,

My favorite forums are this one and MJT, but I have some very close friends on OGR, so while I normally don't post there anything original, I find it takes just 2 shakes of a beagles tale to duplicate post from here to there. I also duplicate post on occasion on MR and Trains, both Kalmbach sites.

One example from today. On OGR Prototype I posted a topic called The Giant Hairdoo. I also posted it in CTT's coffee's always hot post. Didn't get noticed in either forum but it was picked up on in Trains by a couple of women:

I don't have AOL access or I'd go there as well. It's nice to see different viewpoints and different forum have different flavors and group dynamics.

Gee, Dave I was looking for your X rated bookstore over on OGR so I could ask you the question that everybody is thinking but are afraid to ask. I couldn't find it. Here is the burning question: did you go in there specificly to buy a rare train magazine or did you just happen to discover them while you were staring at all the perverts on the right.......Oh, you know what I'm trying to ask. Odd-d

Was this really necessary? Can't you keep this to yourself? I'm sure you're not in high school anymore.
