I have been in search of a turn table for my layout and have not been very successful. Can you tell what you are using? I have an HO Wilsons table that I have been trying to figure out how to convert, but that isn't going real well.
There are some nice but pricey units avasilable. So my question is about what you have used, and how is it working out for you?
Thanks in advance for any information.

From the looks of the TT, it's a modified Bowser- just my opinion---

I have seen a couple pop up on ebay but they go well over $200; too rich for me

Thanks to everyone who has posted. The Bowser unit when available, was beautiful, but too rich for me also. I am hoping someone has figured out how to modify an existing HO unit, I would be happy with a 20" bridge length.
The Wilson HO unit I have has a 16" HO track on it. I think I could push it to 17, which would handle all the locomotives I have, except my 4-8-4 Northern.
So I am still hoping to find something with a 20' bridge. I guess not many S people have turntables on their layout.
Thanks again,
Sounds like a good scratch building project
Stay with the Gilbert theme, and build one out of Erector Set parts Hey, Michael Kolosseus did it (his layout was featured WAAAY back in June of '91).
A good friend of mine passed away about a year ago and his family called me and asked if I wanted some stuff they found. I knew he collected O scale Lionel stuff but I said 'YES' anyways.
He had stored a custom built (quite Large!) turntable for 30 years that he never opened. The crate was still nailed shut!
It was built in the 70s/80s everything by hand, even the control box was built by discrete components - he spent a load of $$$!
It wasn't easy but I ended up replacing the 3 rail O with 2 rail S & incorporated it into my layout and I did get it to work. Keep a lookout for a cheap used O scale unit - they are much more numerous!
Also check with Portline Hobbies & their website. I believe they still have the Bowser you said was discontinued. Doug is a nice guy, he might know of one if they are out.
Good Luck

Grant,Thank you for the reply. I am happy to hear you have a turntable setup on your S layout, I am thinking not many people do. I will contact Port lines, I have bought parts from them in the past. The last I knew he was out of the S turntable and didn't expect to have more available, but I will check into it.Thanks again,George
