I picked one up this past Saturday at The Model Railroad Shop in Piscataway, New Jersey. They have both versions: green w/gold stripes and blue w/orange stripes. Are these things geared for low speed? Mine runs good but not very fast. This is my first "Beep" so maybe there are things I don't know about them. Any info would be appreciated![:)][:)]

TonyGG1:

I was at the same shop today. Thought the graphics on the JC versions were not up to the quality of the originals. Looked a little to ragged around the edges of the stripes.

The orange stripes on the blue engine bled through a little.

Did come very close to buying one though but changed my mind.

P.S. How do you put up with the cigarette smoke in there? It was so thick today I could hardly breathe.

I ordered one of the new N&W Beeps shown on the RMT website. They told me, however, that these aren't expected to be in stock for another month or so. I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs.

CSXJOE,

You must have gotten VERY close up to that green BEEP to see the jagged lines. I got one in yesterday. The lines are a no Picasso, but for $59.00 what do you want? I have to qualify this by stating that I fell on my face in the street last Saturday (ambulance, plastic surgeon, whole nine yards) and haven't been able to wear my glasses since. [B)]
