Operating Milk Car Platform Placement question

It looks like a portion of the platform for operatin milk cars extends under the remote control track section. I would like to add this accessory to my layout. However it will be placed across from my sawmill. This placement will require the platform be placed against the side of the remote control track section the wires attach to and I am wondering if there are clearance cuts in the platform to allow this type of placement.

If I am understanding your question correctly, the answer is yes. Where the uncoupler/operating track protrudes for the 4 electrical connection screws, there is a cutout for for the platform to come closer to the track. the platform should be as close to the track as possible, so the little man can slide the milk cans onto the platform. Be aware, some postwar milkcar men are very strong, and don't slide the cans out, but throw them an amazing distance!

Original milk platforms have an opening in the base large enough to pass the controller for the remote section through. The O guage version of the remote track has removable leads, but the some of the 027 versions of the remote track do not. Some of the original stands also have a small slot in the lip on both ends where the track goes. These slots are for positioning the platform for O and 027 track respectivly. There are also platform height adjustment slots for both types of track. The plarform has two tabs that can be bent to remove it, in order to do this.

The sawmill may, have small metal brackets that can be pivoted out perpendicular to the base and act as spacers for placing and holding the unit in the proper position with respect to the track. If it does,one of these may get in the way of the milk platform, so the solution is to just keep it folded in. I know some accessories have these, but now I'm not sure if the sawmill is one.

Recalling milk cans falling between the platform and car as a kid I added a 1/4" thick piece of acrylic to the face of the platform when I installed it on my current layout. Haven't had any problems with errant cans.

My unloading station is at the end of a deadend spur, I don't have to be concerned with clearances for other rolling stock or engines.
