1977 loop size
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 12:03 PM
Newbie here with newbie question: How can I find out what is the minimum loop size required for passenger cars from 1977/78? In this case it is the 9532 etc. Southern Crescent Limited Series. From time to time I see older cars on Ebay and I don't bid because I don't want to end up with something needing more than a 41 inch loop. Thanks.

31" will be just fine, they will even work on 027. Most trains made that early work on good old fashioned track. There are only a very few exceptions. After about 1990 is when you need to be a little more careful. Most of the trouble will come from the largest engines and long scale cars, that didn't come along until about 10 years ago.

Thanks yet again, Elliot. Sorry about the "loop size" when I should have said "minimum radius." I'll get the lingo down soon.
