Expert Postwar collector input needed!
Posted by msacco on Monday, August 20, 2007 10:38 PM

I am thinking of purchasing a 6430 cooper jarrett from a TCA member. It's in nice shape but the roofs of the vans are glued down. I've always heard this was done by the owner (usually poorly too). The seller states that he has it from a reliable source that the Lionel Corp released these two ways: glued and unglued.

   Anyone know for sure?

thanks,

Mike S.

Most likely Lionel released these with the van roofs glued in place.  I had a post war flat car with undecorated vans and the roofs were glued on.  Doubt that an owner would glue the roofs in place.
