8213 ?
Posted by traindaddy1 on Monday, July 30, 2007 7:07 PM

I came upon a Lionel engine and have tried to identify it with no success.

Heavy (die cast) 2-4-2   Black with white stripe.  Smoke unit.  Embossed (not painted) #8213

Appreciate all assistance.            As always, many thanks.

I found a few thru searches...

D&RGW 2-4-2  '82-'83?  This one was in Canada, the french part, so I couldn't translate.  My French is rather rusty.

Kurt, you got it right (your French must be better than you think!).  The 8213 also included a headlight and an electronic reversing unit.  The 1130-type tender included mechanical Sound of Steam.

The loco was part of the 1252 Heavy Iron set (also '82-'83), along with a 9031 NP gondola, a 9339 GN boxcar, a 9020 UP flatcar, and a 9077 Rio Grande SP-type caboose.
