After a long 6 months, benchwork is finally up!!!
Now, to get track up.
Looks great !! Keep up the good work!! Can't wait to see some phone poles on there !!
Thanks, John
You may want to add some lateral supports to your legs though...
I was going to do that, but the 2x4 frame feels real solid. I won't be up on it, and once the plywood is on, should hold strong.
Plus I ran out of the dumpster-diving-home-construction-site 2x4's.
Dave, you will need some telephone poles for that layout. I know somebody that can help you.
Looks good!!!

First Level:
Second Level
There is no connection between the two levels. The bottom one is at a kid-friendly height. I will let my 5 year old daughter play with that one.
The top one is mine
Still working on some placement issues on the top level. But all-in-all, thats the basic plan.

Nice layout and Benchwork nitroboy. I like the idea of having a lower level for the kids.
One question: How do you use the siding coming off the left-hand turn-out at the bottom of the coal ramp?
I think I'd turn the same switch 180 degrees and run that siding up that space between the coal ramp and the adjacent track.
Roland
Yeah, that has been fixed on my updated revisions. I was goind to have the empty hoppers off the ramp diverted into there to await pickup for refilling, but not very feasabale. Only thing that probably could have got in there would be a BEEP. I'll post a new plan with the revisions soon.
I liked that idea Roland of switching the switch around!!!
