Zeke? Huh? Is that even a real name?

Renovo PRR sited a post on pot saying that "Zeke" is actually a kid, and has a mother name Susan, explaining why the ebay name is "reallywickedsue". I dont know whether to believe this or not, only God knows the truth. Though being a kid would explain the way he types......... Im a teen to, but I try to type more formal.......... Big Smile [:D]

I've been reading this forum as much as I can since about two weeks before zeke began posting here and i have read all the major postings which he wrote. I've decided to go ahead and join up today to comment about this. It is difficult for me to believe all of it was a sham, and it is saddening. I hope that the "scam zeke" and the zeke of this forum were not the same, but by now it is looking like they are indeed the same, but please correct me if I am wrong about that.

I think it was june the 10th when he wrote that tale of meeting the old warrior train man with a massive layout and getting a ZW and that lionel engine , that story really impacted me, especially because I was having a truly bad day that day, and it was quite something of a ray of hope inregards to humanity, type of thing to me.   That story touched me so much I posted a link to it on my personal site so my friends and associates could see it, now I'll have to go and tell them it was fiction.

I guess when a member pointed out that both zeke and zeke's supposed girlfriend used "threw" rather than "through", well it did not strike me at the time but I see it now.

Seems like zeke buttered us all up, I myself have never been in the military, but I certainly understand the insult he created by portraying himself as a wounded vet.

About Zeke,

If it's all true and I don't dispute that it is, this kid has bigger problems than just portraying himself as a wounded war vet. Come on, to be a kid and waste your time scamming a group of hobbyists is pathetic. Talk about somebody who needs to get a life, or, who has way too much time on their hands.

All,

Not saying I told you so cause I didn't, but when you see someone make so many "Sappy" posts every day with no hint of having to leave the PC to do life's "real work" No matter if he's a wounded vet, somethings not right.  He lost my interest after the "Nice old man gave me a train" bit....ya right.  For the record, if that ever happens to anyone else in here. keep that **** to yourself.

Dennis B-1, I think we have a young man who is beginning to mature.  He is learning.  In the past few years, we have seen several and they are now good and mature young men.  Lets give this guy a chance.  Bet we will be bragging on him [like we those mentioned in the sentence above] in a few years.

Zeke posted this on MTJ, wonder if he will follow through:

Zeke posted

well im not 15 And thats not my mom. But anyways. I would like to tell all of you that i am returning each and every train i recieved. not because i didnt deserve it, cuz i did. I am returning them because i have no interest left in the hobby and so why not return them. These were gifts i never asked for anything. I cant post this on ctt but i know it will make its way there. I was gonna ebay them but thought it threw and it just wasnt the right thing to do. Im not trying to save myself, not tryin to get in anyones good graces cuz were past that, Im returning them soley because i dont want them.

I hear constantly how i lied but yet have not seen one relevant thing about what the lie was over. Doesnt matter. I fear nobody and have not broke any laws. they were all gifts , and will be returned.

Dont know who is feeding you all info but its wrong but whatever. You wont hear from me again as i am taking leave for a bit. Tired of the phone calls threatining my life. That isnt even gonna happen just tired of hearing it. And well i wish you all the best of luck. I never meant for any of this to happen

Alex, thanks for posting, Seems the evidence I have found and several others have posted and emailed me make me doubt even this last post from him.  I will believe the story about getting our items back when the package is at the door.  For the most part, I have remained silent on the forum about this whole matter and will do so again.  I do have one thought though:

This is a TEST: if we treat it as such and move on, this will continue to be a great place to "visit".  I hope that others will continue to be generous with this hobby.  I know that a couple of folks have given me gifts that have helped me grow in the hobby and allow me to share it with my children.  While I am out a little, others are out quite a bit.  If our "friend" does return what I sent, I will quickly package it up and look for another person who is new to the hobby, or has needs and share it with them.  Not sure, but I venture to say others will do likewise.  Remember, it is not what they do to us, it is how we react.

Thank you for your time, and thank you for all who have given of their hearts to this person and to others.

God Bless,

Dennis

It is now all over guys. Contact has been made and his mother said she will take care of everything. I just hope the guys that are out money get some back. The important part is by some people not turning their backs the scam is now stopped and for awhile should not turn up in another hobby group. That was the most important part it is far easier to ignor a problem or do nothing.

Grayson is cool I think he will turn out to be a great person.

from the Canadian RC link.

LINK

after a couple drinks here i was looking through my emails and i came across this "brian" guys number so i called it, turns out there is a kid there that is 15 and this was his mom i talked to, she confirmed the address, and told me that she will call me in the morning, so ill let you guys know what happens after that, she sounded kinda grumpy about it,

"he ripped you off, whats your number ill call you in the morning after i talk to him"

sounds like someone might be getting a spanking.. Very Happy

i guess he was making up stories on the train sites and getting trains donated to him and turning around and selling them on ebay through his mothers account.

I'll admit I browsed the threads before the cat was out of the bag, the major thing that gave a hint near the end was when he was "about to be released, but then something terrible happened" (paraphrasing, I forget the exact scenario layed out by "jenny").

There were then more posts from "zeke" within less than a day of the supposed event. I can't imagine too many people who reach the level of critical condition in a hospital bed are normally posting on the internet within 24 hours of the event.
