Do you know about a great subscriber benefit: The CTT Track Plan Database? There are 127 track plans (most with either schematics and/or parts lists) you can download for FREE, anytime you like!
Here's a walk-through for those of you who haven't used it. First, find "Track Plan Database" by going to either the "Subscriber Extras" or "How to" areas in the black bar at the top of the website page.
You'll be taken to the section and see a patterned gray box. You can search by a number of options, including size, type of track, etc., or even key word. A list of plans will appear based on your search choices.
Another way to find track plans is to use "tags." Each article on our website lists key words. See the FasTrack photograph for the items that are tagged. Click on one of the tags and see related articles.
Track plans always include (obviously) a track plan PDF to download and print out. Most include either a list of parts/items or a schematic diagram, but not all plans have this. You will see small images on the page to show what is available to download.
There are a variety of styles, types, sizes, and yes, a number of plans that include Christmas!
Here's a Christmas tree plan that is free to all: Creative plan leaves room for a Christmas tree.
TIPS to more easily find a track plan that's right for you:
Try different search terms. "Christmas" gives just 3 results, but "tree" gives more (as in, around the tree).
Remember the author but not the plan? Try entering an author name in the search box (like Kent Johnson or Ray Stuber).
For more choices, search only using the "size" option. For fewer choices, add more parameters (such as, size plus track type).
Would you rather search for a topic? Try terms like coal, retro, industry, small, etc.
ENJOY this great subscriber benefit. And remember, we add track plans to the database so even if you've looked at it before, there may be new content you haven't seen yet.
