In the steam era did Great Northern passenger trains ran on the Northern Pacific Point Defiance mainline in any direction.
IF you can believe Wikipedia, yes, GN operated passenger trains over the line from 1943 to 1956.
"On August 8, 1943, the GN moved its remaining Seattle–Portland round trip to the Point Defiance Line, leaving only NP trains to Grays Harbor on the old line. Those trains were discontinued in February 1956".

When the Point Defiance line opened in 1914, Great Northern moved it's passenger trains on the new line , making the Prairie line a freight only line, Plus, I have a 1927 GN passenger timetable that says GN passenger trains ran on the Point Defiance mainline and GN passenger trains uses Tacoma Union Station for trains going to Portland Oregon via the Point Defiance mainline.
