There was an article awhile back (I can't remmember were or by whom) about someone who built a lift system for storing trains. It lifted about 5 trains, on a shelf with track, up or down. You could then stop it at layout height and drive off the train you want.
If anyone remembers this or knows how to do this, please provide me with a link or the info on how to build it.
