What's it worth?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, November 24, 2006 8:25 AM
Hi.  I have a Lionel train and track set that still works. It was a gift to my mom in 1958 and was new at the time. I would like to sell it. I have no idea what its value is. I'm sure you'll need more details. Perhaps we could start a dialog via email since I have no idea where to begin. Thank you so much. lynnmiller4158@hotmail.com

Hi Lynn.  The Classic Toy Trains forum http://www.trains.com/trccs/forums/95/ShowForum.aspx is where most of the Lionel guys hang out.   If you repost over there you'll get more responses.

Value depends on several things, how rare the set is, it's condition, are the boxes still with it, etc.  If you could post the name of the set and or the model number that would help - a picture would be best.

If this is the girls trains set with the pink locomotive and pastel cars - see pictures here http://stone7.netfirms.com/ - it may be pretty valuable especially if in good condition with boxes..

Good luck
Paul
