steam locos in wis

I am a history major at UW-Milwaukee and come from a farm/mechanical background with an excellent GPA. Is there anyone out there who might know of an historical RR in need of someone with this interest.  I have some experience with steam and this is my field of study.  Thanks.

Go to this site;  steamlocomotive.com, then click on surviving steam locomotives, then click on your state. It'll give you a list of every steam locomotive in the state, where it's located and what it's current status is. There are links to railroad clubs, museums, etc. You'll easily find what you're looking for there. Good luck!!
