South Wind Sleeping Car Service

I have a Penn Central timetable dated June 1970 that shows only coach and cafe service between Chicago and Louisville. Sleeping car service only ran on the L&N between Louisville and Florida. When did the through sleeping car service stop? Did it survive into the Penn Central era?

Through Chicago-Florida South Wind service ended on November 29, 1969. Penn Central also attempted to do the same thing with several New York-Florida trains, cutting them back to Washington-Florida and offering only connecting service. Fortunately, SCL prevailed and nothing further was done.

I rode the South Wind shortly before the through service north of Lousville ended. It was a Penn Central train north of Louisville. Sleepers and coaches ran to both coasts of Florida. (I rode it Chicago - Orlando in a Miami sleeper.) The track on Penn Central was pretty awful in spots and there were slow orders that got into Louisville late. Came back on the City of Miami which was a better train that ran on time.
