Hello. I am new to the whole train scene. I am making trains my new hobby. Does anybody know of any train clubs or organizations that meet on weekends or weeknights in San Antonio, Texas - near downtown or the northwest side of town??? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, you'll find lots of ideas to help you make up your mind on various issues.

The best way to determine club's in your area is to go to hobby shops, especially those specializing in trains.

Check out the Texas Transportation Museum on 11731 Wetmore Road (behind the airport). You should be able to reach the curator (Jared Davis) at most any time at 490-3554. I volunteered there for years and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately my wife's military commitments has taken us elsewhere.
