Looking at timetables and other books besides the one you have on the MP the Aztec Eagle ran from Neuvo Laredo to Mexico CXity as a fully streamlined train the trains made connections in San Antonio with the MP Texas Eagles. Between San Antonio and Mexico City a 10-Section 1-Drawing Room 2-Compartment heavyweight sleeper and a 8-Section 5-Double Bedroom Heavyweight sleeping car operated daily. Coach passengers changed trains in San Antonio and Nuevo Laredo. It was possible to take a lightweight sleeping car in the Texas Eagle from St. Louis to San Antonio then change to one of the heavyweights bound for Mexico City.
The Valley Eagle was an interesting pair of streamliners when introduced between Houston and Brownsville. Each of the two consists was assigned a pair of PA diesels and the trailing consists were Baggage 30' RPO car 813 or 814, 64 Seat Divided Coaches 868 or 869, Coach Grill Cars 824 or 825 and three Stateroom Coaches in each consist 850-855. No other Eagle consists carried the latter cars.
The Pioneer was the night train on the Houston-Brownsville line and was all heavyweight never streamlined.
Hope this information helps.
