Information on Western Union Rail Cars?

With pleasure, I've sort of backed into collecting Lionel's LRRC Western Union railroad cars. Western Union's predecessor company originated in Rochester, NY where I live, so......

Anyway, I am having a devil of a time finding images or even descriptions of more than one Western Union rail car (found on Fallen Flags website). I realize that Lionel is not necessarily producing true to prototype models, but that's okay for me.

I would like to see what actually existed, though. Can anyone direct me to a website or book with info?

One of the best kept secrets on this site is "Index of Magazines " at the top when you log in. Easy to use.


Went there and found "Search by keyword"

Found through trial and error that if you use "WUX", (Reporting Mark?) it shows 2 articles from 1937 & 1941. Nothing later.

Thanks for the help. I had book marked the Forum Index page, so I seldom see the log-in page when I visit the various forums.

I used the "Index to Magazines" several years ago and got so frustrated at not being able to find the magazines that I gave up. Since then I'd just forgotten about the resource. I am much more patient these days and will pursue the 1937 and 1941 issues. I'm in no hurry and will enjoy the search.
