Website with aerial pictures like a map

Hello,

 

Some years ago I have got a link to a website in the USA that got aerial pictures(like a map) in different decades( 40's, 50's, 60's, etc...).

 

On that website you could find out how a certain place looked in the past(if there were aerial pictures available) for example in 50’s  and than compare on that same website how the same spot looked in the 60’s or 70’s if aerial pictures where available .

I do not remember if this site was set up by a non profit organization or by a university or other organisation.

It was a website without log in or subscription, it was totally free to consult.

I lost the link when I changed my computer.

 

I hope someone can give me information about that website and a link to that website

Historic Aerials had such a site.  It is still free but the image size range is constrained and they have a particularly obnoxious anti-copying overlay/watermark.

At one time the full version of Google Earth had a 'historic' tab that let you overlay historic images on the current GPS/GIS-generated map.  I remember using it in the past, but I haven't used Earth for the purpose for over half a decade.  Be prepared for an extremely large download if you need to install or update it...

This question has been asked on RyPN, and as I believe their site has working search you might look around to see what they know about.
