Disappearing CT articles?
Posted by Lithonia Operator on Sunday, February 16, 2020 1:13 AM

Maybe I've been hallucinating, but ...

I went to the Classic Trains website within the last few days. There was a long list of stories under the heading Railroader Tales, or something like that. I read one story, enjoyed it, and looked forward to returning and reading all the rest.

But now they are all gone. Were they there long? (Maybe I hadn't been to the site for a while; I can't recall.)

Is there some way to access those articles now?

Or was I hallucinating?

It's on and along the banner at the top. The 4th from the left titled 'The Way It Was' ... click on that and 2 sections appear 'Railfan Stories' and 'Railroader Stories'

Great reads, lot of fun and don't take too long to read but there are a lot them.

Great reads, lot of fun and individually don't take too long to read but there are a lot them.

I have my favourites ... I've read 'A Window in Thrums' at least six times.  Mr. Duffs recollection is exactly how I looked in wonderment at the passenger trains, especially the heavyweight maroon and gold CPR sleepers en route to New York and the CNR/GTW dark olive green and black to Chicago, but sometimes other roads that were incredible, to me,  far away places where the train goes. MStP & SSM, where does that sleeper go? These stopped at our station in Burlington. The passengers always waved from their windows, sometimes recognizable NHL hockey players coming and going to Detroit, Chicago and New York. Now that was a really big thing!  Oh yeah, I had a serious case of 'yondering'.

Thanks, MM!

On my phone I found those on the menu you get if you click on the menu icon at top left. I'll have to check and see if it's different on the computer.

I must have gotten to Railroader Stories by accident that one time.

Knowing this is a boon! Previous to seeing that list, I thought at any given time there was only one The Way It Was story available at a time. I had always thought the site was very short on content! Duh.

Thanks again.
