A Photo Poser
Posted by FlyingCrow on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 11:54 AM

Tongue Tied Been trying to locate the year and month of the issue of TRAINS that contained the photo of what I believe was the last run of Lehigh Valley's MAPLE LEAF.   It's taken at ALLENTOWN; the train is 6 hours late, totally encased in ice and snow.    Anyone?

(Note, I corrected the city)

I kept searching and searching and, VOILA!    Here 'tis.   The last Lehigh Valley passenger train, running 6 hours late but still running no matter the weather.

Wow, what a picture!  The "Maple Leaf" was going, but it sure wasn't going without a fight!

Real old-time "the elements be damned!" railroading.  Thanks for posting it!
