I Need a Smoke Element for a 1666 Marx

I need  to build or purchase a Smoke Element for a Marx 1666 Steam Engine.  I have 20 guage copper wire as lead to element and 32 guage nichrome as the element.  What do I need to wrap the smoke wire around?  I want to have an element that will last for a good period of time.  Hope someone can help me with this project.  Thank you.
