Can anyone comment on the quality of the "Pennsy Steam Years" books, volumes 1-3? I see these pop up on ebay and Amazon. I have Don Ball's 1940-1950s, Prophet's Pennsy, and Pennsy Power vol 1...do the Pennsy Steam Years repeat a lot of the same photos from these other books? I'm mainly looking for photos and content on T1, S1, S2, Q2. Thanks.
In the volume sequenceing there is variety in locomotives as well as locations. Quality is good, worth the purchase, and more valuable as a set than individually.

They're typical Morning Sun-- you'll give maybe 70-80% of the pics a glance and not much more. Vols 1 and 2 have several T1 pics and one Q2-- no S1/S2. The title page of Vol 1 (and the DJ) shows the spiffy 6110 on what it says is train 74 in 1942 at some four-track location.
Look for books by Don Wood and xxxxx Alexander for really vintage and quality PRR shots. Don Ball hadseveral books on early diesels which also have some good steam shots. Caloroso's Elmira Branch is good for I1's especially.
