Posted by Anonymous on Friday, May 28, 2004 9:12 PM
i am not familiar with trains but have always wanted a old train set. i found one at a yard sale but have no idea on the value. this is what i remember about it. box says lionel train with the number 3994 on side. looks like original box, plain brown cardboard. train engine is black with "biltmore commodore" on it. it comes with 4 cars ( i think) coal car, liguid car, and other 2 can't remember, track and controller. thanks please respond asap, will buy early in morning it you think it is a good deal

Welcome to the forums! You're on the Classic Trains forum, which is probably not the best place to get peoples' attention for your request. Try reposting it on the Classic Toy Trains forum.

Regardless, there are a lot of people on here who may be able to help you a whole lot more than I can. However, there is an organization called the Train Collectors Assn that may be able to assist or can put you in contact with someone who can. Their reference library contact for email is ref-library@traincollectors.org

Their main web page is www.traincollectors.org

Good hunting.[#welcome]
