As a fan of the "Honourary Steam Engine" the ALCO/MLW C-630, does anyone know if there are any running on short lines or on excursion/museum lines? I'd love to go visit a place where these behemoths exist, i unfortunately never got to visit the Cape Breton & Central Nova Scotia Railway where they used to run in Canada, if anyone has any info, let me know plz.
The only one's I know of may still run on the Arkansas and Missouri. The Reading Historical association has one but use it infrequently, the rest of the preserved one's will be the museum one's that are stuffed and mounted.

The story I heard at ARM is that the Cartier 34 (UP2907) was operable when she landed dockside in Houston. For some reason UP put her over the Englewood Hump and that messed things up inside the unit when they shifted.

I reccommend this video to any railfan or fan of the C-630, M-630 Six Motor Alco's by Rail Innovations. It does'nt get any better than 3 or 4 fully loaded C-630's hauling coal trains up a hill in rugged Nova Scotia, the sound is something else!!
