Allegheny passenger trains?

Has anybody ever heard of a Chesapeake and Ohio H8 "Allegheny" locomotive pulling a passenger train? Many descriptions of the loco said it was designed for fast-freight and passenger service. Every photo I've ever seen of one was pulling coal drags. Has it ever been documented that C&O EVER used it in passenger service?

Can't say for sure, but without looking further into my library I don't believe that they ever were used for civil passenger service. If so it must have been a very VERY rare thing. I have seen many photos of the 2-6-6-6, but none showing one on the head of a passenger train.

But occasionally they were used to haul troop trains, and this is documented with photos.
