Howdy all. My name is Tim and I have been collecting trains since I was a little kid. Naturally my dad got me into it with some post war stuff...I had a 2055 and a 2018. When I got a little older and started making some money, I purchased almost exclusively prewar stuff. Now I have quite a few prewar locos both electric and steam.
At any rate, I am working on the Christmas layout and have most of it done....I remember having the 494 Rotary Beacon on my layout as a kid and wanted to get another beacon. Since I like early stuff, I purchased a 394 beacon...
HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU GET THIS THING TO WORK? Yes I have a bald spot on my head because I tore my hair out trying to get the thing to spin. I adjusted the vanes...even repositioned the needle to balance the lantern...
I called my pop and he said his just worked....you had to wait until it heated up, but then it started moveing slowly. Mind didn't. :)
Any ideas?
Tim
