3:10 to Yuma

The remake of the western "3:10 to Yuma" is not only an entertaining movie but it has some fun railroad scenes. The steam train is from the Reader Railroad according to the credits. If you start complaining about the paint on the train, just watch the original from the fifties. The paint on that train isn't much better.

Not seeing the movie, but what was wrong with the paint?

Hi - always fun/easy to pick at Hollywood for "era errors" on trains/transit!  Noticed that one of the passenger cars had a steel underframe, while the other passenger car in the consist was riding on too modern a truck type (post-arch bar).  But as one of you already said, otherwise very enjoyable and nice to see the train play a role in the movie.  As for Russel Crowe's comment about the unreliability of trains...so it goes!!  Art

I couldn't see enough of the train in the first place to even form an opinion. As far I could tell it could have been a plywood set piece being pulled on a dolly past the actors!

The entire train came from Reader Railroad. Just a tidbit- the Reader doesn't run, except 5 miles of it. Back to the topic, the engine has a sky blue scheme, with large S.P.R.R letters and Revenge on the cab. That Reader engine was the first time in 20+ years that it has run.  All the cars are from Reader.
