I'm sitting here at w*rk waiting patiently for the day to end as I'm in a fair bit of pain, due to doing something to my coccyx (tail bone.) It is very difficult to sit and prolonged standing aches the feet... very uncomfortable. I'm on a course of Diclofenac 50mg 3 times per day which is helping alot.
Anywho back to w*rk.

That´s exactly the stuff I am taking right now, same dose. It does help with the pain, but gives me a funny feeling in my stomach.
Shared joy is double joy, shared pain only half the pain?
Seems the Dinner was pulled out from under my feet.
Oh well, life goes on and Ulrich is a friend. It was a long post, sent and got 404.

Maius has always had 31 days.
Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic goddess of spring, the daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan.

Good Morning All,
Not much to report this morning other than old man winter still has us in his grip. This week we will climb into more April like weather.
I went to the Sandusky, OH train show Sunday, not much to report. I picked up a D&H custom 50’ box car and 3 technical hand books from 1903, 1917, and 1933. One of them was a RR ground surveyor’s book and an ERIE operations rules book. Spent a total of $15.

Morning All,
Sitting here before I have to get ready to drive to the coast for the funeral. It will take 1.5 hours to get to the service at the church. I have to be at work at 4 PM so I am coming back immediately after the service in case there are any unforeseen problems. Not much more to report for today. Tomorrow I should get all the prep work done on the extension (painting, mounting control panel, decaling bridge, etc.) and hopefully the TT will be operational on Thursday.
Everyone have a good day and prayers for those in need.

Good morning, Chloe. Just a quick coffee before heading to the pool.
Ken, Your last post in the April Diner must have taken some serious planning. The variety of underbrush was amazing. Nice branch line.

Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Good morning. It's 65° and cloudy with fog. The high will be 88° and it will be partly cloudy.I'm not sure what I'll be doing today. Internet service is acting weird this morning. First it's fast then it's slow. Hope some idiot didn't try doing his own connection. It's happened out here before. I hope to get at least a little layout work in today. Ran some trains last night. The GP7's and GP9's got some mainline time as did the F units. I brought the GP38 and SD27J down off the display rack and ran them also.

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 9am. Cloudy, with a high near 76. South southeast wind between 10 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Thunderstorms Sunday night so I shut off the computer and didn’t turn it back on till this morning. All the storms skirted to the south of us Sunday night. Monday night, or rather Tuesday morning between about two am and oh 4 ish, we had some but they were not severe. In fact they were the good old gentle rolling thunder with some widely spaced lightning. The kind you actually find relaxing. Too bad I was awakened by the dog wanting to go to the basement and was wide awake so I couldn’t fall back asleep.
Jeff- When I said I was missing something I was referring to the MR popup that always pops up saying I’m missing out. Nasty fall you took there. Guess it’s pointless to tell you to take it easy, you would if you can, but I’ll say it anyway.
Odd. Most times I find the commercials more entertaining than the TV show. With a few exceptions.
Have a leak in the roof. Actually it’s a bad boot around the vent pipe for the kitchen sink. That requires to get up in a roof that is too steep for this old bird so….
Grass is still too wet to mow and from the sounds I just heard in the distance, may not get to mow today either. This happened last time I decided to mow in stages. If possible I will not do that again. Oh who am I kidding, I will.
Gotta w**k this morn and again this evening. The day I call a full day of w**k. Getting kinda tired of w**king evenings. Really messes up my days. Thinking about retiring from there too and get anotherjob during the day. It’s just that it’s so darn convenient and the folks I w**k with are great (well except for one ) and are my friends. Oh well, we’ll see
Ya’ll have a good day!!!!

Zurich huh? Sounds good to me. Hope we get to ride on some mountain railroads....as iof we have a choice???
Zoe I'll start with a cup of dark roast coffee is a R&GV RR Mug, then bring me a short stack of buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup and a side order of bacon. Thank you Ma'am.
I have a lot of cleaning to get done today so I'm up and at 'em a bit earlier than usual.
TMarsh Odd. Most times I find the commercials more entertaining than the TV show. With a few exceptions.
Todd, they do that on purpose........... That's the big reason I don't watch television.
Currently 52°F under cloudy skies here in the Finger Lakes Region. A few showers around the area this morning. High will be 65°F.
Best get to the w*rk I need to get done today......

Good Afternoon Gang!
Petra and I spent a wonderful time at a nearby zoo, specializing on wolves. Those animals are just beautiful. We enjoyed watching them, basking in the sunshine we have today.
This is "Noran" , a North American timberwolf, our favorite! The picture was taken out of a distance of nearly 100 yards, so the quality is not too good.
Well, we have arrived safe and sound at Zurich-Klothen International Airport this morning. A shuttle bus took us to Zurich train station, where we boarded a train to Lucerne.
After a little rest to get rid of the jet-lag, we all will go for dinner in one of the many little restaurants at the lake, where we will be enjoying "Zürcher Gschnetzeltes" and a few glasses of the local brew.
Tomorrow, we will visit the "Verkehrshaus Luzern", the Lucerne Transport Museum, and its wonderful collection of Swiss trains.
In the afternoon, we will take a tour of the city, on foot, but we will have help available for those having difficulties to walk.
Enjoy the stay!
Morning Folks!

Work Front Today is the 11th day straight, man I am starting to feel it to. I am off Wednesday, and I am not answering the phone.
Not really looking forward to my single day off? Lot to do, 2 weeks of stuff to catch up on!
Sue you are making me blush! Such kind words coming come from someone with your skills is quit the complement!
Bank Of Stupid Don't have time to go into the full blown rant I was trying to post last night. (Hint Ulrich) Called them yesterday before I made the budget busting $998.63 house payment.
I was told that I am completely up to date and owe $0.00 this month? While that was news, I don't trust them!
Ulrich Looking forward to the tour!
Well, I have to be at work at 12:00 PM, so it is time to go.
Thanks for letting bend your ears.

V8Vega I always turn off my computer overnight or if I don't plan to go on it for 10 hours. Less then 10 hours I put it on standby. What do you guys do?

Heading into town to pay bills, get groceries and gas. Have to go to post office to send off a package to New York state.
Be back later.
For me my home PC's are shutdown if they are not going to be used in the next hour or so...
Mine is on standby during the day, but I shut it off when I go to bed.
Hmm...nobody in here is just after noon? ANd it now almost 4 pm...hmmm...
What does my comupter do? Well, if it is not going to be used soon, it gets shut down. And definitely overnight it is off. Like I tell MOH, it turns on just as easily if it is off!!
WEll, laundry doings, dishes done.
MOH working late shift today. Will get hours in the coffee shop tomorrow. good news as we can use the extra 6 hours pay {after taxes of course}.
Rainy-ish and humid here, not good for my asthmatic lungs which can't sort out the good air form the extra moisture so I have been having coughing fits to expell the extra moisture. Yes, the dehumidifier is going, so is the A/C {which helps a lottle to remove moisture}, but the extra moisture is wreaking havoc on my lungs, especially the walk to the mailboxes and getting the mail, I was pooped by the time I got back to the neighbors house. SHould have driven down, but I can certainly use the exercize.
Dinner will be hadock, broiled with a hint of dill and lemon, rice a roni {the San Fransico treat, Ding DIng} and ceasar salad.
Afternoon guys
I see the dinner went to switzerland. Will we be able to still get Ed's OJ this far away?
Afer work I went to a PO to ship some stuff that I sold. I figured 2 loco shells wouldn't cost a whole lot to ship. Boy was I wrong, nearly 11 bucks for a package that was under 1 pound. Yikes.
My computer shuts itself off if inactive for 5 minutes. If it does this, pressing a key will bring it back to where it was.
Dennis, You just added something to my list of reasons why I would never live in California (a trip there isn't out of the question though, I've always wanted to see Keddie Wye). Most of them are because it's too expensive.
F-unit hunt, Well I found an superpower A unit (thanks Jim). So I still am hunting 2 Bs and an A. I was thinking of upgrading to intermountain or highliners shells for , but they cost close to 50 bucks each. I'm leaning towards the highliner one because there is more flexibility (IM F7A ph1 and F7B available). I have looked at stewarts because they cost less, but they seem to be mostly F3s. I guess this is the fun of building your own units.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Got the bills paid, some groceries bought, package delivered. Gas was $45 for twelve gallons (filled up from half a tank). Picked up a big bottle of Pennzoil 10-W30, oil filter and two cans of Restore Engine Restorer for the van. May get a chance to change the oil this weekend if not before. Had to cut back on the groceries to get the stuff for the van but I should have enough in the cabinets to cover and my food stamp card gets reloaded on the 3rd. Just $46 but it's better than none. Van vapor locked then flooded at Wal-Mart. I cleared it by holding the gas pedal to the floor when I cranked it over. After a few attempts it fired with the pedal still to the floor. Danged thing sounded like a Hemi firing up! It sure turned a lot of heads not to mention turning my face red. One guy asked me what I had in it. He didn't believe me when I said a stock 318 with a two barrel until I showed him. He said it sounded too good to have that tiny carb on it. If it had anything bigger I couldn't afford to drive it!
Coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.
***Jeffrey, thanks for the chuckles from your van story. Makes me miss my big ol' van. Was such a great vehicle for traveling in.
Had a couple rough nights with insomnia, but doing better today. Just slowly chipping away at stuff.
Have a great day, all.
Rob
Dennis: Don't feel too bad about paying 67 cents a gallon tax on gas. If I've calculated it correctly, the total gasoline taxes here come to 27 cents/litre ($1.02/gal). The province just raised its tax on gas by 2.5 cents a litre (9.46 cents/gal) to 14 cents (53 cents/gal). Then there's the federal tax which is applied after the provincial tax is calculated as I understand it. Oh well, there are places in Canada which have gasoline taxes approaching 50 cents/litre ($1.89/gal). This morning (the first day of the increase) my favourite gas station was selling regular gas at $1.22.5/litre ($4.63/gal). I figure it will cost me $1 more to fill my tank so I guess I won't be hit that hard. They say the extra 2.5 cents is to go to repairing roads, particularly those heavily damaged by the devastating floods in the spring of 2011. Ha! I'll believe that when I see it! Among other things they raised the cost of registering a vehicle by $35. And they are getting more tax revenue from their favourite target, smokers. The cost of a 25 pack went up 63 cents, 50 cents for a 20 pack. You can put away the frying pan, girls, this wasn't a rant, just facts. Just the facts, m'am.
Yeah, what's with those annoying popups encouraging me to subscribe to the email notices when I already do? Isn't their computer able to tell who already subscribes?
I leave my computer on all day, turn it on when I get up, turn it off when I go to bed. The screen blanks out after 15 minutes and the hard drive shuts down and the computer goes to sleep after 30 mins. A touch of the keyboard wakes it right up. I've been considering getting a UPS for it to take it through short power outages and to give me time to shut it down properly if the outage is a long one. I'm sure the sudden loss of power will eventually do something bad to the computer, probably the hard drive.

I think most everything I absolutely had to get done is now done and I await the arrival of the troop in about a half hour.
Tonight they will be showing they know about "Operation Lifesaver" and taling a short written test about do's and don'ts around railroads, doing some switching with my Inglenook style Timesaver, Completing the Amtrack requirement, learning about model railroads, operating one of my trains, and Identifying 10 different types of RR Cars. Should keep them busy for a while I think! It will be more or less a round robin type event.
The new Macs they just tell you to just leave them on all the time. They will a hard sleep which is supposed to be the same as a shutdown after whatever interval you choose for it. I prefer to do a hard shut down at night and anytime I am away from the computer if the weather is bad.
Rob, hope you get a good nights sleep tonight!
Catch you after the crowd leaves!
Good Evening.
All done in the getting yard cleaned up department..did not rain today...but, boy, was it dull....
Going to actually have some people over later to run some trains..let us see how that goes...
As to the leaving computer on scenario..I do that here, except at night when I go to sleep..then it gets turned off..and that included my DAW.....
I'm not mentioning anything about gas taxes..the last time I said anything I get tanged over the head with a frying...KEEERRRRRWWWWAAAAANNNGGGG!!!!!!!
See the pretty birdies!!!
