How to Repair Lionel Santa Fe #1095
Posted by Hugh Betcha on Monday, January 2, 2012 10:27 PM

Suggestions/guidance requested

Have 1970's vintage, O gauge, 12" long coupler to catcher, Lionel Santa Fe #1095 w. headlight

Trying to refresh old set.  Motor hums but will not turn in either direction..

Is it possible to rebuild the motor?  Or is a replacement available someplace?

Will consider buying a newer model motor and adapting the case to fit the smaller size of the new motors.

This unit has silver gray plastic case, with 2 4-wheel trucks  Motor is on the rear.  No front coupler.

There are a lot of Marx 1095s on Ebay.  Are you sure that's Lionel, and not Marx?

It's a Marx Bob, not sure why he's posting again when he already has a thread going here: http://cs.trains.com/TRCCS/forums/t/200931.aspx
