Hey guy. Well still no reply from the guidence councler on the club idea oh well. Well a couple of weeks ago i went to a local model railroad show and picked up a CN switcher and a PC desiel.

Chris, sounds like some nice acquisitions. Any pics?

I've been ripping up track. Here's the WRS track gang at Enfield.

Wow, the WRS track gang uses really big pliers! They look almost 87 sizes too big!

Genset problem resolved. When they first came out, Atlas sent out an email about incompatibility problems with the MRC Tech 6. No problem for me because I don't own one.

But, later, they found that using them as a DC unit on a DCC system would also fry the circut board, but they never sent out a follow-up email saying this. So I had no way of knowing. This is why after using it for all of about 30 seconds on a DCC system, it stopped.

Fortunately, Atlas says they will replace the boards for free. I'll be calling them in the next few days for a return number for the warranty work.

IM ALIVE!!!! Finals have been a real pain. I have done almost nothing for a month because I was back in FL, and this time, I didnt bring my layout with me. Check out my website for the whole story. (YES! GASP! I DID UPDATE THAT THING!!!)

Finals? We have those in June...
Our midterms are towards the end of January, the week fo MLK day, I believe.

What have I done? Go to my post, read about the whole chain of events with 1002 (all after getting it eleven months late...). And in my signature, click on the "Tri State Rail" link, and go to the constuction blog.
That's about it.

I haven't been around much either. layout progress is nonexistant as I don't have any ballast for the track. and then rugby has started,a dn school has been giving the final push until Christmas.

I have mid-terms this up-coming week. the semester ends in January, but they have exams before Christmas break so that we don't ahve to study/worry abt them over the break.

Just got back from my first semester away at college and this was waiting for me. Runs well so far and sounds good like my CSX sd70ace.

RE: Big Ditches. How's a Creek grad ya? One of the gaps at the NWR formed by the lifthout is hidden with somewhagt loose foliage, a small wooden bridge, and a drainage ditch pipe. All is attached to the liftout except the pipe, which sits at the bacl corner of the joint and don't move. Works quite well. Another wpu;d be tp [ark a few large, weeping willows at one edge to draw the eyes away. I'd be leery of plastering, fir fear of having to literally chse\l the modues apart next move. Next Modules, you might build the top and bottoms to fit over each other so the gap isn't straght through.

The electrical problems are SOLVED!!!!! I feel so stupid! I forgot the turnout had a live frog and I powered the track going from the turnout, thus a short developed in the point rails. It was solved by simply putting some insulated rail joiners on the inside rail of the outside track, and on the outside rail of the inside track. This morning, I had a long operating session of reshuffling the cars to their appropriate spurs. I HAD A BLAST!!!!!

On another note, the main finals week is over, and I only have one more final on monday. Once thats done, Ill model to my heart's content.

Yeah, no modeling at all for me... I've been way too busy.

Last weekend, I was busy with real trains. See my last post here for more on that.

This week, teachers tried to cram tests in before break.
Now, I'm trying to write a 5 page paper, and procrastination is winning.
Next week, teachers are crammng in even more tests in the last two days before break.

But over break, if I get time (and money), then the modeling can resume.

I'm FINALLY on break! The exams etc got to me, but now two weeks of de-tox :D

Well guys, 1 week till Christmas! I'm excited for both the holiday, and honestly also the gifts because then I can hopefully finally make more progress on my alyout

Joe, that sucks, but I hear ya on being really busy at times!

in other news, I've been painting several train drawings in MS paint. I have a B23-7, U23B, and a C420 (need to update that one though). I can't share them though because they're Michael Eby drawings.
