As some of you know Brian Nolan the phenomenal modeller and fire fighter passed away last year. Some of the kit manufacturers have come together to produce a model in his honor, appropriately enough of a fire house. All the proceeds for the sale of this model are going to the fire department. The fact that his tributes and photos are hosted on an Australian web site says something about the international impact Brian had.

Nice idea, but it would have been more fitting to name the structure after Brian with his name used somewhere in the signage.
I met Brain in 2003 at the Southheast Div. NMRA convention in Tampa/St Pete. I was indeed impressed with not only his fabulous workmanship, but with Brain himself. He has served as a major inspiration for my work, even though I model Applachain railroads. HIs influnence and almost unique artistic style coupled with spending much a summer in Colorado still may get me to rip out my present railroad and go to On3 as set during the 40's in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado.
Brian, you were great and we all benefit by your surviving work and many photos.

I agree Howard. I have ordered the model and have every intention of creating my own signs to better honor Brian should there be no alternatives in the kit.
Brian was a regular visitor and exhibitor at the Prototype Rails convention in Cocoa Beach ( I live nearby) and at Sunshine Region conventions. I've toured many layouts and never seen better structures. I was shocked and saddened by his passing. He is missed by all of us who knew him.
