Hobby Shop Question? Hiawatha Hobbies
Posted by skates94 on Monday, January 12, 2009 2:09 PM

Hello All,

I have found an item that I have been looking for online from Hiawatha Hobbies in Wisconsin.... it appears they also have a brick & mortar as well.

Can anyone give a recommendation/review on them before I order. Thanks.

Hello All,

I have found an item that I have been looking for online from Hiawatha Hobbies in Wisconsin.... it appears they also have a brick & mortar as well.

Can anyone give a recommendation/review on them before I order. Thanks.

They do indeed have brick+mortar, being located in Waukesha on Summit Ave.  I grew up in that area, and HH was my primary hobby shop.  Chalk me up as a solid recommendation...they've always been friendly, and they're pretty knowledgable as well.

I have ordered from them online on two occasions and have never been disappointed.   They are very fast at getting orders processed.  I live in Kansas and have received there order usually within 3 days after placing the order.

Thanks.... just wanted a little encouragement before ordering.

But can I trust your recommendation.... having grown up in Wisconsin and now it looks like you call Chicago home here is the ultimate test.... Bears or Packers????? OH nevermind, neither made the playoffs!!!

Thanks again

I'll add my endorsement of Hiawatha.  I have made several purchases online.  Good inventory depth, good prices, very good service.  Couldn't ask for more.

I would definately recommend Hiawatha.  I've been to the bricks and mortar store many a times ( I live 25 min. from the store).  I've found the folks there to be friendly and knowledgable and their prices are reasonable.  Also, I'm a transplant from Illinois to Wisconsin but I still bleed blue and orange though it was a rough season this year

Well, it looks like the order has already been placed, but I will also chime in. Two years ago I was looking for a Kato BNSF loco that everyone else was out of. I stumbled across the Hiawatha Hobbies website and found it in stock and at a surprisingly low price. I called, confirmed the item price and stock status, and placed the order. Ariived a few days later. Excellent experience and highly recommend them. Thumbs Up Jamie

LOL!!

I'm not sure that I want to incriminate myself on the question of Bears vs. Packers...so instead, let's just say that I'm pretty sure we can both say we're glad that the Vikings lost to Philly the other week.

Happy modeling with your Hiawatha Hobbies order!
